Shona Tomkinson, Owner and Personal Trainer   Now that I’m in my 40’s I’m even more passionate about my training but with a very different focus. For me the importance now is to develop a training method that is both functional and time saving alongside providing a confidence and strength of both body and mind.  Having studied in many disciplines… Power Plate acceleration training (CPPT), Level 2 Kettlebells, Core stability, Pad work, Outdoor fitness, ViPR, Studio spin, Supple Strength and much more I soon realised that by combining these training methods to develop a Hybrid HIIT session would create a constant challenge to the body.  As a single Mum of a very energetic 5 year old I’m conscious that time is precious. Hybrid HIIT provides a very powerful speed training plan allowing you half the training time but with maximum results.   I’ve thoroughly enjoyed developing my 30 minute Speed training sessions that can be carried out with the whole family in mind. Family fitness is hugely important as we are the role models of our future generations.    ACCELERATE...OPTIMISE...ACHIEVE!…But most of all have FUN!

Finding Shona's classes through a friends recommendation filled me with a newfound passion for exercise. I loved the short, sharp bursts, which worked me hard, but effectively so I was excited to be given the opportunity to now work alongside Shona at Excel.  I have loved training for my new role on TRX, Kettlebell and Boxing techniques, and the science geek in me loved the Power Plate training!    I can’t wait to put all this knowledge into practice with you at Excel!
